-El Cajas National Park
El Cajas National Park is located in the Western Cordillera of the southern Ecuadorian Andes, just 35 km. of Cuenca and in the northwest direction.
-Its altitude ranges from 3,156 to 4,450 meters above sea level. It covers an area of 288 km2 (28,544 ha) and includes a lacustrine complex of 235 glacial lagoons connected to each other by streams and streams. Its temperature ranges from -2ºC to 18ºC.
-In the park are sites of archaeological interest, including several sections of the QhapaqÑan (Camino Real Andino) that connect the coast with the sierra and, in pre-Inca and Inca periods, served, among many other purposes, for the circulation of the shell Spondylus, object of high economic value of the time
